New Scottish Squash Nominations

I am really honoured to have been elected Vice President of Scottish Squash and to welcome our new President Hakim Din.

Hakim has been elected as the new President of Scottish Squash following last week’s General Meeting.

Chairperson of Scottish Squash Rackets Club (SSRC), he replaces Paul Macari, who recently started in the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Also elected on the evening were Marc Hope (Central Nominee) as Vice President, Adrian Richmond (Finance Director), David Myers (East Nominee) and Georgia Adderley (Player Representative).

Having been Chair of the Glasgow club for the past six years, Hakim steered the club through the challenges of Covid early in his tenure.

Working alongside club coaches, Hakim has worked with local schools and the wider community to promote and introduce the sport to new audiences.

He is a member of Scottish Squash’s Equality and Diversity Committee and has worked with Scottish Squash to ensure the game is accessible to underrepresented groups.

A keen squash player, Hakim previously represented SSRC in the West Scotland Squash Leagues.

Following his election as the new President, Hakim said:

“I am honoured to have been elected President/Chair of the board of Scottish Squash. It is a privilege to support such a dedicated and enthusiastic community, and I look forward to working with the board, our clubs, coaches, players and partners to grow and strengthen squash at all levels across Scotland.”
